In the third segment, Holly checks in with Rich Smith Executive Director of the North Florida PGA Section. Just recently returned from the Memorial Service for Arnold Palmer in Latrobe, Pa. He talked about the service that honored The King. It spoke about him as a man and a person, a humanitarian. He was all about everybody else whether he had just met you or knew you for a long time. He personifies what the term legend means.

Holly said that Arnie was the everyday guy. But at the same time, he could mix with presidents, kings and queens. The PGA did a lot for Arnold Palmer at the Ryder Cup as well as many other venues. 

Rich spoke about how appropriate it was that the USA went 4-0 on the first day of the Ryder Cup this year and the last time the US did that was in 1975 when Palmer was the Captain of the US team.

In the second segment, Greg Wires, Golf Minnesota, calls in to talk about how things went in Minnesota at Hazeltine. Holly talks to Greg about the rowdy crowds and the atmosphere surrounding the Ryder Cup. Greg feels that the rowdiness of the fans might have been a little overplayed. When the announcement was made and posted on Sunday that rowdy behavior would not be tolerated, it pretty much took care of it.

Holly, Will and Greg talk about the setup of the course and Justin Rose's comments about how easy the course was set up and it was almost like playing in a Pro-Am. 

There were a lot of big video boards at Hazeltine and they even had radios for sale in the tents for $15 that you could listen to several different broadcasts of the matches as they were being played.

Greg talks about seeing Phil sink the putt on 18 and Phil's reaction afterwards. Greg said that people were 30-40 deep on Sunday around some of the holes. He also said that Sunday was Red Out and the fans were encouraged to wear red in support of Team USA. Host and Producer Holly G and The Golf Insiders Social Media Expert, EVVUS, Will Perry, are in the studio talking about the big win for Team USA over Europe in the Ryder Cup. The USA won 17-11. Holly said the man of the match was Patrick Reed.

Holly and Will welcome Damon Hack, Host of the Golf Channel's Morning Drive. Damon had a chance to speak with Patrick Reed's coach during the Ryder Cup and he said that Reed is made for the Ryder Cup. Damon talks about the relationship between Brandt Snedeker told Bubba Watson that he needed him just to walk with him during Sunday's final round.

Holly also asks Damon about the play of Phil Mickelson. "He is one of the greatest self motivators and one of the greatest golfers of all times. He loves playing with the young kids. It makes him feel young. Phil has had a star crossed career in the Ryder Cup. He stepped up in a huge way. Started to change the view of his Ryder Cup career. This was a career changing week for Phil Mickelson in terms of how he has been a Ryder Cup performer for the United States over the last 20 some years. The teammates were all invested in one another this time much like the Europeans. 

Damon said that he was able to text with Patrick Reed's Swing Coach Josh Gregory during the Ryder Cup match and he said he was born for the Ryder Cup. .He loves the atmosphere wants the ball in his hands in the waning seconds. He likes to show off and is confrontational and wants to beat the other guy.  Had some trouble at Georgia and had to transfer. He went to Augusta State and battled the likes Peter Uihlein and Harris English and more heralded players and beat them. He's continue to carry that chip on his shoulders and it has made him a great player on the PGA Tour and it makes him an absolute beast in the Ryder Cup.

Holly talks with Damon about the tremendous tribute to Arnold Palmer during the Ryder Cup. The memorial service yesterday at Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It's been an emotional week and a half around the Golf Channel. Losing Arnold Palmer was like losing a best friend. The entire golf family is celebrating one of the great American lives that we have seen in the game of golf. Arnold Palmer has made golf and the world a better place.

Holly and Will talk about the passing of Arnold Palmer last Sunday. Holly recaps her Arnie story from when she was a little girl and how that has impacted her life and career choice. Will and Holly talk about what Arnie has done for the game of golf, the Golf Channel and how the people always were the most important thing.

This weekend the National Women's Golf Association is having its Celebrity Scramble at Black Bear Golf Club to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida. In the second segment, Greg Wires Publisher Golf Minnesota calls in to talk about the Ryder Cup. Holly and Greg talk about Arnold Palmer's passing and how Arnie will be honored at the Ryder Cup this week. Holly mentions that with Arnie's passing there might be a 13th player on Team USA. Greg said that Darren Clarke mentioned in a press conference Arnie's Army was worldwide. Greg said that It's an unusual feeling while there is sadness with his passing, there is joy in rejoicing his life as well. 

Holly asks Greg about the golf course at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Has had huge events, U.S. Open, PGA Championship, Ryder Cup and many. Greg and Holly talk about the way the course's holes are being switched around for the Ryder Cup this year for the fans and the competition.  It's not set up the way members play daily nor how it has been set up for Ryder Cups in the past.

Holly asks Greg what might be some of the keys and strategies to playing the best golf at Hazeltine. Greg says that it's a big course and you have to be able to get the ball out there.  But when you are playing your teammates ball in some of the matches, it might not might make that big of a difference how far you hit it.

Will asks Greg about the vibe around the area. Greg said that something surrounding the event now is an article where Danny Willet's brother didn't say nice things about American golf fans. Neither team was happy about the comments.

In the third segment of the show, Holly and Will welcome long time sports writer Mike Kern from Philadelphia Daily News. Mike talks about Arnold Palmer. We knew his health was fading and then he didn't show up at Oakmont for the U.S. Open. The writing was on the wall. Mike said that "You would be hard pressed to find someone who didn't like Arnie. "There were so many contributions that Arnold Palmer made to the game of golf. He invented the grand slam, the Golf Channel and he helped increase the tournament purses. 100 years from now when people go through the history of golf his name will stand out.

Mike said that there used to be a Senior Tour event in Philadelphia in the twilight of Palmer's career, and more people showed up to watch Arnie play with one of the early tee times than would show up to watch the leaders. 

Holly and Mike tun their attention to this week's Ryder Cup. Mike says that in the past the problem has been that the Americans don't play well on Friday and Saturday. The Euros seem like they seem to play better together. 

In the final segment of the show, Dr Bob Winters, mental conditioning coach and author of Mistake-Free Golf, calls in to talk about the Ryder Cup and the mental aspects of the tournament. The Europeans have a strong team with six new players and they have no scar tissue from previous Ryder Cup emotional scar tissue ... and they know each other very well.

Team USA is a collection of individual egos that comes together once every two years and try to create some cohesive bond. On the other hand Team Europe has a collective ego, and consciousness I call it "Eurogo." Basically wherever one goes the others go too.

Dr Bob feels that Team Europe will win. There is a lot more pressure on the USA, even though there are so many things stacked in Team USA's favor that it adds more pressure and we want to win so badly. I think in the end Europe will win and we will look and say, Wow, what do they have that we don't? They have a team ego.

Will asks if the team concept that is something that is taught with coaching over time? 

Dr Bob says that Together Everyone Achieves More - TEAM. The Europeans really like each other and hang out with one another. USA doesn't have that.

Dr Bob feels that there are too many American brains involved --- five vice captains is too much over coaching.
